On September 17, kindergartners at Alvarado Elementary School celebrated Flag Day.
Starting in 1982, the school has marked the anniversary of Mexican and other Central American
republics' independence on this day; as the years have passed, they have added many other
countries to honor the heritage of all students in the school.
