Sports and other activities at Upper Noe Recreation Center will be humming from late May to mid-August, with most courses starting June 6. For a complete schedule of summer offerings, go to www.sfreconline.org, call 970-8061, or drop by the center at 295 Day St. Note that the Pilates, Yoga, and Future Chefs classes allow drop-ins at a charge of $10 per class.
Creating extra pop at Upper Noe this month will be a free Movie Night on Saturday, June 16, featuring the family-friendly film Sita Sings the Blues by Noe Valley animator Nina Paley. The fun starts at 4 p.m. at the children’s playground with a sandbox-cover dedication party that includes refreshments. Cartoons—with popcorn—start at 4:30, and the movie attraction screens at 6 p.m. Don’t forget to bring blankets and sleeping bags. For information, go to www.noevalleyreccenter.com.
